Canyon Land Motel and RV Park
Williams, Arizona
Dates: August 3-28 2010.
Location: From the West (California/Las Vegas): I-40 east to Grand Canyon Exit #165 - Turn right (south); go 1 mile to the first driveway on the right. From Phoenix: I-17 to Flagstaff. From Flagstaff take I-40 west to Grand Canyon Exit #165, approx. 28 minutes. Turn left at the end of the off-ramp (south); go 1 mile to the first driveway on the right.
Our Site Number: 14 (backed up to a subdivison)
Reason Selected: Just off Interstate 40 and the exit for the Grand Canyon NP
Setting: On the west side of Williams AZ on Route 66. Gravel lot bordered by the road, a subdivision and pine trees.
Big Rig Friendly: Yes, the majority of the sites are pull through
Hook-ups: Full hook-ups
Laundry: Yes, clean laundry room in the same building as the restroom/showers. All were clean and modern.
Price & Discounts: We paid $714.76 for a month.
Other Factors: On route 66 and within biking distance to downtown Williams. There is train noise from the Grand Canyon railroad. There were more flies than we had ever encountered before prompting us to buy fly traps and fly swatters. The campground power was weak with low voltage. Temperatures were in the 50's at night and sometimes rose to the low 80's. (altitude 6K?)
OVERALL RATING: 6 could have been a 7 if the power was stable and the wifi stronger. We had a residential neighbor that had a constant barking dog that became irritating at times.

Not easy to find. Depending on the season, one needs to be careful around the fauna and wildlife.
